Note:

We didn’t really had a plan at first, we just noted all places to visit and then everything came into place in terms of proximity of the locations, time of the day, weather conditions, and means of transportation. :) We rode a taxi, jeep, tricycle, and a trisikad just to get to these places. :) We met a lot of different cebuanos, some are nice people, some are makulet, funny and most of the time they speak to us in Bisaya. :) Cebu city is just like our Quiapo in Manila, busy streets, busy people on the streets selling stuffs, walking, begging for alms, and old structure of buildings, a lot of jeepneys, dirty roads, “buwaya” policemen and traffic anywhere. I can’t really say that it is a safe city but you should always be alert and aware of your belongings and people around you.

i don’t think it is fair to compare cebu city to quiapo! yes, there is a part of cebu that looks like quiapo, but a part does not make a whole… cebu has a lot more to offer!

yes you are right, i was referring to the city proper, cebu city itself (i.e. busy colon st.), but for the other neighboring places with the beautiful beaches, then really there is a lot to see in Cebu. :) cheers!

    Yeah I object .
Cebu City is definitely so not Quiapo!
It is safer and better than metro manila.

I understand what you mean about the old streets of Cebu looking like Quiapo especially the streets of Manalili,Colon, Carbon and near the Sto.Nino Shrine.I felt the same way when I was there and I lived in Cebu for almost 3 years. When I was homesick for Manila, I would go there and imagine Im just walking along Recto.I guess those that beg to disagree have never lived in Quiapo or didnt really see the old world charms of both cities.
