Here’s another entry related to my Ultimate Taste Test experience and will be the last post after the 2 earlier posts where I featured the Perfect Christmas Goodies and Sweet Treats you can’t resist.
Now, this is a special post featuring all the foodies that I found to be extraordinary and definitely a must try.
1. Lattize
Lattize offered their real corned beef that tasted superb; juicy and tender beef that was awesomely delicious. We really loved it.

Sweet treats
by webby on Nov.22, 2009, under Blog, Food
I want something sweet to eat… I want something good to eat… Sweets to satisfy my cravings… Have you ever had this feeling when you were suddenly attacked by CSS (Craving for Sweets Syndrome) that you would grab any kind of sweets like a chocolate bar, a slice of cake, a brownie square, and etc. With this irresistible urge you would not even mind if it tasted real good and just be contented on eating something that tasted sweet.
Thanks to the Ultimate Taste Test 3 event, TKL was able to experience the heavenly taste of these delectable sweets that would leave you with a very gratifying feeling and wanting for more.
1. Symphony of Flavors Bakeshop
Whether or not you love cookies, this Cookie Monster Cheesecake will surely turn you into one big cookie monster loving every bite of its smooth, crunchy, creamy cheesecake topped with chocolate chip cookies. 2. Divine Desserts
When I was a kid back then, my grandma used to bake her signature chocolate cake that was loved by many. Divine Desserts offers home-style cakes and pastries, old style sweets we sometimes missed because of the evolution of commercially made and latest desserts. Their Double Double Fudge Cake and Caramel Fudge Cake are some of the best-sellers; try it and see how divine their desserts are.

3. Dulcelli cakes
Avocado Sansrival, chewy cashew meringue, layered with special avocado butter icing… I’ll be honest I’m not really into sansrivals but this Avocado Sansrival is definitely something different. Dulcelli’s Choco Mallow Fluff is also a must try, chocolate cake with caramel custard and marshmallow icing. Definitely yummy!

Perfect Christmas Goodies
by webby on Nov.15, 2009, under Blog, Food
Good thing I was able to attend another foodie event – the Ultimate Taste Test 3 held last 8 Nov 2009 in Fort. I had new food discoveries… desirable homemade special goodies that were heavenly in taste and utterly unique.
Christmas day is fast approaching and TKL highly recommends these yummy goodies that are definitely worth giving to family and friends.
1. Cramly Cravings – Sweet hams have been the custom gift during this time of the year, but we usually buy commercial hams that are easily available in the market. Why not opt Cramly Cravings’ Chicken Ham and Pineapple Sweet Ham and have a different and delightful Christmas Ham experience this year.
For inquiries and orders, you may contact 09178109228 and/or 0922-8855562.
2. Canapés Chef – December reunions, Christmas lunches and dinners are about to come, aren’t you tired of the usual finger foods you bring or serve in a gathering? Canapés Chef’s hot and cold canapés are worth trying and will surely satisfy your guests.
Experience one small bite to indulgence. For more information, you may visit their site – http://canapeschef.multiply.com/
3. The Fruit Garden – Homemade fruit jams made out of 100% natural fruits and cane sugar. Mango jam? Pineapple jam? Not the usual flavors out in the market and I bet it is really hard to find one that is all natural and flavorful. The Fruit Garden’s Mango, Pineapple and Strawberry Collection are perfect Christmas giveaways; they offer different fruit combination to choose from that goes with very nice packaging.
You may contact 09209453565, andrea@thefruitgarden.net and www.thefruitgarden.net for orders and inquiries.
PINO resto bar
by webby on Nov.05, 2009, under Blog, Food
It was a Friday night, pay day, traffic in the metro and the highlight of that evening was the onset of typhoon Santi… but these obstructions did not stopped us on our aim for that evening and that is to reach Maginhawa street to dine in Pino Resto Bar…
Thanks to their multiply site with all those enticing food photos which greatly motivated us to get to the place and try it ourselves…So it was really a must for us to visit Pino Resto Bar and this was the only evening for it!
As we arrived in the resto, we were lucky to get a spot because the place was just small with a homey ambience like you were just in your own home. Pino Resto offers Filipino cuisine with a twist; in all their dishes, they have something distinct that made any simple dish intriguing and worth trying. The service crew were all friendly and you can feel that they were really happy to serve you.
We ordered one of Pino’s favorites, the Crispy Tenderloin Tapsilog, juicy beef tenderloin in small pieces coated; fried with crispy breading and covered with gravy sauce. As for the egg, 3 quail eggs fried in one and topped over the garlic rice.
Also we tried Bagnet Tofu Stack-O, one of their new dishes. The first time I tasted Bagnet was in Ilocos and that was last February 2009, I really missed it and so this Bagnet dish was one of my best choice. Tofu is also my favorite, so I can say that this dish was really made for me.
Even the rice was special; it has its own yummy flavour with slices of mushrooms mixed.
We both had ordered our own meals but can’t resist to try their Dilis rice…we were interested to see how it would look like and so we also ordered for one. Dilis used was the typical big, flavoured dilis which is usually eaten as snack. Rice was also mixed with dilis and topped with fried egg. Yum, yum, yummy…
As for their drinks, they have their own iced tea called Pino iced tea at 35php per glass or 80php per pitcher. Definitely very cheap, refreshing and has distinct taste.
Pino’s best seller dessert is the Chunky Choco Tempura, though we really wanted to try it but can no longer have one because we were already full and just opted to have a light dessert like the Buko Pandan Leche Flan. With every taste, another taste follows and so on until you finish it all as you can’t figure out what makes it sweet, tasty and good to eat.
Our Pino Resto Bar experience was really remarkable; everyday Filipino food made to something surprising and superb in presentation and taste. The location is a bit far but worth a visit. Food prices are reasonable and really worth it.
We would surely go back for their Kare-kare Bagnet, Sisig Carbonara, Chunky Choco Tempura, Pino Flavoured beer and Pino Giant Margarita.
Till our next visit!
