KXP Kulinarya Experience

by on Apr.24, 2010, under Blog, Food

Kulinarya Experience is located at the 2nd Floor Midtown wing of Robinson’s Place Manila. I think this resto has been operating for more than a year now but it was just last weekend that we were able to try it. ;)

The restaurant name as well as the menu was very interesting which influenced us to dine here. They have Teppanyaki Grill wherein you can choose your own combination from meat (Ribeye, Pork Tenderloin Steak, Beef Burger, etc.) or seafood (Squid, Shrimp, Fish Steak); choose your sauce (Steak, Teriyaki, or Gambas); and choose your siding (pasta or rice).

They also offer unique pasta and rice meals for an exciting pasta and rice experience in KXP. You can have Bacon & Shitake Mushrom Linguine, Italian Burger Melt or Mac & Cheese pasta and etc. Rice meals, you can choose from Chicken Strips on Baked Tomato Rice, Tuna & Mushroom Gratin Rice, or Spicy Tofu Sisig Rice and a lot more. ;)

Ultimate Adventure – the Superman Ride

by on Apr.24, 2010, under Blog, Travel

Third and last adventure – Superman Ride

Superman ride 1

Superman ride 1

Here we go with our final ride for that day, the Superman ride; anyone can be like Superman and feel as if you are flying for about 5 mins. A very quick ride that you really just have to hold on tight. Hehe.

Superman 2

Superman ride 2

At first, the ride will let you fly backwards, it was a bit scary because it was really too fast and you can’t see your back and not sure when and where it would stop.

Superman ride 3

Superman ride 3

After a full stop, change of cables then the ride going forward begins… in this part, it was really fun and you can really act and feel as if you are flying… Weeeeeeeeeee! ;)

Superman ride 4

Superman ride 4

Overall, Superman Ride was the best and our most favorite ride. Exciting, quick and so much FUN. ;)   Subic Tree Top has their latest ride which is the Interactive Free Fall; this ride was not part of our package, so we missed this one but will really try this next time… Got some cool shots of this interesting ride… I think this ride will really make your heart jump but will be really fun because you’ll be in a group going up and down in the air…Hehehe. Better check it out too! ;) Enjoy!

Tree Top Adventure – Canopy Ride

by on Apr.19, 2010, under Blog, Travel

Second adventure – the Tree Top Adventure Canopy Ride

Start of the Ultimate Adventure

Start of the Ultimate Adventure

For this ride, you should be in a group of 3 to maximize the seats. For couples, this can be a good ride for some quiet moments together and sweet chats. But for loners who want to be with the trees then go ahead and ride on your own. Hehe.

Riding the Canopy

Riding the Canopy

As you can see in the picture above, seats are just made in plastic like a typical chair but hanging and without any feet. Ropes used are made of hose and sealed with heavy duty tapes and wires. Honestly, looking at it, would make you feel uncomfortable, doubt if this thing really works and if these seats can really support you… Waaaaahhh… I got scared at that time and was very careful in riding and really held on those hose real tight. Haha.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride...

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride...

During the ride, you just have to enjoy the view but if you are afraid of heights never look down! Ride between platforms takes about 5 minutes or less, short cables but waiting time can be long in changing cables. When we had this ride, it was a weekend; there were a lot of people so the whole ride took us almost 2 hours.

When you reached the platforms, you can also be educated with some basic information about these old big trees… Canopy ride guides/assistants are also very friendly, entertaining and share their different funny stories.

Learn something about the trees...

If you get bored with their informative signs, entertaining guides, then all you can do now is to take some pictures, just like this… Hehe.

Take shots while waiting for your ride...

Overall, the whole ride was too long, boring, and scary for me. I’m not really afraid of heights but being 100ft above the ground seeing only the trees, riding those plastic chairs in hose cables and feet floating in the air is quite a challenge and a bit scary. :( I would suggest you try this ride just to get the thrilling experience but riding it again never came into my mind. Sorry…Hahaha.

Tree Drop Adventure

by on Apr.03, 2010, under Blog, Travel

First adventure – Tree Drop/Rappelling

Tree Drop 1

Tree Drop 1

See that caution sign? No one can get in without safety belts in place. Below is a shot of the short bridge going to the main area of Tree Drop or the dropping/falling area… walked here just fine, no tension yet! I know I can do this! ;)

Tree Drop 2

Tree Drop 2

Okay, we’re here now…you have to stand on the ledge with helmet, gloves, harness attached and most important – LISTEN and FOCUS with Kuya’s instructions… :) I must admit I failed here, didn’t focused and can’t even remember now what Kuya was saying because I was at that time too damn scared…My Gahhhhhhhd! TIP: Never look down!

Tree Drop 3

Tree Drop 3

Now, it is time to make your harness work and compose yourself as if you are flying… this drop is called the Australian style. Kuya will hold your hand for awhile then with his loud go signal whatever word he was saying you will quickly go down… :) Weeeeeeeeeeee! It was really so so fast, as if your face was being erased…Hahaha.

Tree Drop 4

Tree Drop 4

Here’s another shot while falling…

Tree Drop 5

A shot from below…

Tree Drop 6

Tree Drop 6

Another way to go down is the Spiderman style, head first, feet on top, and you have to make your way down with your hands. Looks more fun and easier? Well, you can just try both styles and see which you like best… :)

Tree Drop 7

Tree Drop 7

Another shot of the Spiderman style…still trying to position herself the right way…

Tree Drop 8

Tree Drop 8

For emergency landing…hehe or in case whatever style you were trying didn’t worked, you can just do this position, as if you’re lying down… then they can just pull you down…

Tree Drop 9

Tree Drop 9

Once you landed, someone will be there waiting for you, will assist you in removing all those stuffs…hairnet, helmet, harness, and gloves…

Tree Drop 10

Tree Drop 10

Just sharing this shot, I love this picture, find it so funny, my friend was so happy and laughing real hard when he landed…a funny side-effect of this Tree Drop Adventure…Hehe. :)

Tree Drop 11

Tree Drop 11

Want to try it? It looks easy when you’re watching others do it but once you’re there on top, you really have to compose yourself and remove all the fright… it was so FUN and a very thrilling experience! ;)

Manila Ocean Park’s Acquatica Show

by on Apr.01, 2010, under Blog, T-Files, Travel

Manila Ocean Park started operations since March 2008 but it was just recently that I went to visit this place. Before I thought, Manila Ocean Park was just for kids, but after my visit, I guess I was wrong because I really enjoyed my trip. :)

The Oceanarium at Manila Ocean Park

The Oceanarium at Manila Ocean Park

This summer 2010, visiting Manila Ocean Park is more favorable because they have their latest attraction which is the Acquatica Show. We availed their newest promo package – Moonlight Adventure at 500php per head. Ticket includes the Oceanarium (originally priced @ 400php) and Acquatica Show (I think priced @ 300php).

Manila Ocean Park's Acquatica Show

Manila Ocean Park's Acquatica Show

The Oceanarium is a showcase of different sea creatures; you can find the usual fishes like clown fish, sting ray, sharks as well as the extraordinary ones like garden eel, stone fish, lipstick fish, bloated fish and many more. Main attraction in Oceanarium is the open aquarium wherein you can see  the fishes swim above you or on your sides. This creates a feeling of being underwater and swimming with the fishes without you being wet and killed by sharks. Haha.

Maiden of the Sea

But what amazed and entertained me most is the Acquatica Show entitled Maiden of the Sea. This is a show of lights, sounds, and fireworks coordination with added live performers on stage. The first time I saw this kind of show was in Singapore and it was entitled Songs of the Sea. Good thing we have this now here in Manila Ocean Park, there’s no need to go to Singapore to get this kind of entertainment. ;)

Maiden of the Sea 2

Maiden of the Sea 2

Here are few shots of some highlights of the show. I really loved it! :) For first timers, you will really be awed and just say WOW! ;) This Acquatica show has a story, which I must admit not able to fully understand it because I was so mesmerized and focused on the effects of the water, lights, and sound.  Hehehe.

Maiden of the Sea 3

Maiden of the Sea 3

By the way, show starts at 6.30pm and upon entrance disposable raincoats are distributed for water protection. But you won’t really get totally wet while watching the show. :) Visit now Manila Ocean Park and get entertained in spectacular water, lights, and sound Acquatica Show. See You! ;)
