When you’re in Baguio, OMG! Would mean Oh My Gulay!
“OMG!” You would really be surprised when you see this uniquely and artistically designed restaurant situated on top of the La Azotea (green building) along Session Road.
Oh My Gulay is an art gallery and at the same time a vegetarian restaurant owned by an artist known as Kidlat Tahimik.
They offer purely vegetarian dishes from salads, sandwiches, pastas, and desserts. Sorry about this photo, menu looked a bit messy… hehe!
We ordered their Chow-Chow noodles, chow mien-fresh market vegetables sautéed in garlic flavored with spicy soy and hoisin; served with egg noodles. Good taste, something different and vegetables were fresh.
Another order we had was the Anak ng Putanesca, topped with sautéed garlic, capers and olives, enriched with Pomodoro and spices with hot pepper. It was spicy but tasted good.
For our dessert, we had their Mansanas, their own version of Apple pie…it was more like a crepe stuffed with fresh apples, caramelized with brown sugar, cinnamon and served with chocolate drizzles. It was really yummy and very cheap.
For our drinks we had Hot and Iced Dayap teas… Dayap Hot tea was more soothing and the warmth made the flavor stronger… while the Iced Dayap tea was just like your usual Iced teas…
We thought their meals were just light but we ended the night being so full! Oh My Gulay dishes were all good and priced reasonably. The waiters were a bit disorganized that night, maybe because there were a lot of customers coming in even if they had already closed their entrance… I think they close early around 8.30pm so it is better to visit earlier so they can serve you properly.
Oh My Gulay is a must visit when you are in Baguio… there is also an overlooking view of the city; you can enjoy the cool breeze of Baguio while having a yummy vegetarian meal.
