This November 2011, Manila Ocean Park opened its latest attraction, Trails to Antarctica; our country’s first and only experience to see real Penguins…
These Penguins are called the Humboldt Penguins that came from the west coast of South America. These Penguins were really fun to watch; they swim so fast; I think they love being photographed because there were posing for the cameras; eats a lot — you can avail of their feeding promo (250php and up) which includes at least 2 fishes , some souvenir shots with the Penguins and have the best experience to get closer to the them.
Here are some of my “best” Penguin shots… Hehehe!
It was quite a challenge to take pictures because they were in a big aquarium, no flash photography and the glass was not that clear and clean…
Another included attraction inside Trails to Antarctica is the Slide O’ Fun which is a big and long “Ice” slide…it was cool to go down this slide…you just have to be patient in lining up and waiting for your turn… and one ticket = one ride only.
The 3rd and last attraction is the Snow Village; we were advised that this should be the last stop to visit because this would also lead you to the exit of the whole Trails to Antarctica attraction. We entered by batches; were given jackets and warned not to use cameras and other electronic gadgets like cellphone, IPAD, etc. inside the Snow Village for it’s temperature was -15 degrees. They were not liable to any damage that can happen to your gadgets but you can take pictures at your OWN risk!
But good thing, they have their own photographer which can take your souvenir shots inside the Snow Village and photo is priced at 100php per print.
The Snow Village was just a very small area with benches, snow scenery/decors; super cold – it was like getting inside a freezer; can’t help but shiver! Ice floor was also a bit slippery so it’s good to wear appropriate shoes for it.
Here’s one of our souvenir shots, still we were able to SMILE and pose for the camera despite the super, super cold temperature… :)
Trails to Antarctica is a cool, fun, interesting and worth it attraction here in Manila Ocean Park. For only 300php you get to experience these 3 different attractions inside and Manila Ocean Park offers good packaged promos of this Penguin Exhibit with other different attractions.
Cool, right? So, head now to Manila Ocean Park and don’t miss this one time opportunity to see real Penguins for this exhibit is only until January 2012.

looks like naenjoy nyo po ung pagvisit nyo sa trails to antartica with your family. sulit talaga ang bayad.. is it true na bawal daw magdala sa loob ng camera?
Hi popchic, yes it’s really sulit…
you can bring your camera inside, they just warn you not to use it in the Snow Village bec of the neg. temp that can affect your camera… yung iba matigas ulo, they still used the camera so shoot at your own risk… hehe! but you can use it in the slide and the penguins…
and they have naman available photographer in the snow village, you just have to pay for the pictures…

hi marwin, hmmm im not sure if you’re coming from pampanga.. sorry… basta when you get to Manila, Roxas blvd lang malapit na it’s just behind Quirino Grandstand so malapit din ang Luneta Park or pg LRT nearest to UN Station, then ride a pedicab going there….hope this helps… thanks!
I’ve already searched on how to get..there but im not familiar w/ manila..bsta ang sa2kyan ko simula pampanga pasay tpus gni2 ung nkita ko..
Option 2. From SM Mall of Asia or along Taft Avenue, take a jeepney bound for Divisoria either via Taft or Mabini route. Get down at Luneta. Walk towards Manila Bay through Rizal Park until you reach Roxas Boulevard (you will walk past Orosa Street and National Library). Cross Roxas Blvd, and walk until you reach Quirino Grandstand; behind it will be Manila Ocean Park.
(can you help me in details kung alam mo to?kung mgkanu ung fair?etc.or any suggestion by d way thanks u’ve help a lot)
Hi again,
Your option 2, is correct but would have a lot of walking.
If you want to be quick and less traffic, once you go down at Pasay, ride the LRT and alight at UN Station, LRT fare is around 15php… then cross the other side and look for pedicabs it will take you to Ocean Park, will just have to walk a little to enter the Ocean Park grounds, I think the pedicab costs 20 to 30php.
If you are traveling on a non-peak hours/not rush hour, you can just take a cab that will directly take you to Manila Ocean Park, will just pass by Roxas Blvd. fare costs 150 to 200php.
Or if jeep bound for Divisoria, you can just alight at City Hall then cross the other side and ride a jeep bound for Pier and just asked the jeepney driver to drop you at Manila Ocean Park.
You can always ask the drivers so you won’t get lost.
Thanks!
thanks..for the suggestion..but i rather choose the walking pra na rin mkapamasayal..pero wla bng masa2kyan sa luneta ppunta sa ocean park!?tska ano sa2kyan mo nun..ppunta sa MOA pgkatpos mo sa ocean park!?may sakayan ba dun!?cenxya na..marami tanong..hehe

from luneta to ocean park – you can ride pedicab. or just walk….
from ocean park to MOA – Taxi is the easiest ride.
Thanks!
you can email me at webby@tripkolang.com thanks!
Hi! Very helpful, you are much helpful than CSR of MOP. thank you … I want ask for a favor. Can you send me a sample itinerary on what attraction to first and last. And where to eat in a small budget, 3pax
We’re celebrating our son’s 3rd birthday on March 31. I think the summer promo is good.
Hi butterflyonbike,
Thanks for your comment and dropping by my site.
Regarding the itinerary, it would really depend on how long you’ll be staying in Ocean Park if it would be a full or half day? Also, I would recommend you to go early if you’ll be visiting on a weekend or holiday. Super mdaming tao kasi lalo na ngayon summer na din… In my opinion mas ma enjoy mo yung place if there’s less people so ok if off-peak days and hours but again better na din early for everything…
Regarding sa mga activities included in their summer promo, you just have to consider your time kasi like the Musical Fountain and Sea Lion show, they have schedules in the afternoon so you really have to be there at that time… then yung other spots like Oceanarium, Jellies, Penguin Exhibit, wala naman syang time, so you can visit it anytime na free na, oceanarium can take a long time, para masulit nyo naman…
hope this helps… Thanks!
Regarding the food, I think North Park is the best choice in MOP. Affordable and enough yung food servings and of course sure ka na msarap ang Chinese food!
The Makan-Makan village is a bit pricey, and not all the food are worth it and I think di din mgeenjoy pag may batang ksama…
Really informative … thank you. We are going to have free tickets too for the penguin talkshow (Buy 30 tokens from Funtasea get 2 tickets free) … I will buy another one for me worth Php60.00, and the show runs every 30mins, Gerry’s Grill is also on the list for dinner. Pag-absent ko na lang si mrs. saturday
May menu ba duon sa white moon bar? Can we sit there to take pictures only?
hi again, white moon bar is really more on the drinks and opens at night. while in the morning/afternoon, yes you can take pictures there. Thanks!
