and Trip Ko Lang was happy to be there!
Last 7 Aug 2010, I attended Eats Asia 2 at NBC Tent, thanks to 1 Zaldivar Event for the invite and their cool VIP pass!
Eats Asia is a celebration of culinary favorites from some of the world’s favorite destinations. Different food & demo stations were put up representing some Asian countries like Japan, Thailand, China, Persia, Vietnam and Philippines.
As soon as we arrived in the venue, we started sampling food from top culinary schools like GCIC, CSB-HRIM, ISCAHM, CCA and a lot more. Popular restaurants were also present like Red Kimono, Binalot, The Coffee Beanery, Kopiroti, Bee Cheng Hiang, and more. Having a VIP pass, we were entitled to free lunch and snack from Tamayo’s catering and Juan Carlo. Yumyum!
Program was non-stop, cooking demos were lined up from different chefs and culinary schools. Learned interesting recipes and helpful cooking styles.
There was also a fashion show of Novelty Aprons from Amuse Bouche – http://amusebouche.multiply.com/ Really amusing show and interesting collection of aprons. Check out their site!
Thanks to Milkmaid for sponsoring an on-the-spot dessert competition, participants showed their secret tempting dessert recipes…ooohhhhh so sweet!
Ms. Tessa Prieto-Valdez was also invited to share her tips on table setting…
There was a free photo booth from bestbooth.multiply.com…
and here’s our group shot! Love it!
Thanks Eats Asia for this wonderful, yummy and satisfying foodie event! We were also lucky to be included in the first 100 to get loot bags… distribution was a bit disorganized but it was worth the wait…Thanks again Sky Cable and Asian Food Channel!
Gino’s Eats and Beats
by webby on Aug.01, 2010, under Blog, Food
It has been ages since my closest friends and I had dinner, we tried a new place along Jupiter St. in Makati, it was called Gino’s Eats and Beats. It was a perfect place for small groups just like us with cozy ambiance and good food; a great spot for simple talks and catching up.
Looking for something light to eat, we ordered for Gino’s 3 Cheese Sandwich, it was really yummy, thanks to the pesto flavor which made it superb!
Here comes the most-loved Eggs Benedict, egg and cheezy topping overload… Yum yum!
We also tried one of Gino’s best-sellers, BBQ spare ribs, too much fat but taste was good and even better with the BBQ sauce that goes with it.
Overall, our dining experience was great, good food and service, clean and cozy ambiance, and reasonable prices. Too bad, there was a private function that evening so we were not able to stay that long and didn’t experience Gino’s Beats which usually happens in late evenings… I guess there’s always a next time and some other time to try Gino’s other best dishes.

Yaki Mix

Splurge + Food Galore = Yaki Mix (Great Food + Complete Satisfaction)
Okay, do the math if you are not yet hungry… otherwise head now to Yaki Mix to eat… errr… EAT-A-LOT…
Here’s another foodie discovery that is worth the visit… it’s not just the complete buffet that you will love but also its smokeless grill…yes, you get to experience choosing the food you want to grill and see it cooked right in the middle of your table…sounds interesting?
I’m no cook but enjoyed the grilling experience, I get to say: “Hey, I cooked/grilled that! Yummy?!
Haha. There were a lot to grill, you can choose from beef, pork, seafood, and everything you can think of grilling!
Yaki Mix has complete buffet set-up from soups, salads, Chinese and Japanese dishes and the best section is the Sushi Overload! I love sushi and really went gaga over those sushi, so many different types of sushi!
And another favorite of mine…desserts! My meal is incomplete without it…but we didn’t really enjoy this part because we were already too full and didn’t make enough room for dessert. They have ice creams and you can have your our own toppings, mini cakes, regular cakes, fruits, ice drops and etc.
Dinner buffet costs 580php per head. Drink all you can at 55php (Sodas, Iced Tea, Juices). Dinner time is from 6pm to 11pm. There were a lot of people but you can also make early reservations to avoid waiting too long.
Overall, our Yaki Mix experience was fun, yummy, satisfied and worth the money!
You can visit their branch at SM Mall of Asia, Tomas Morato or along Macapagal Blvd.
Big chow-time! Yum yum!
p.s.
Sorry about the pictures as they did not allow to take pictures of the whole buffet set-up.

♪ Gusto ko ng baboy. ♫ Gusto ko ng baboy. ♪ Gusto ko ng ba, ba, baboy man! ♫ Tara na sa Chic-Boy!
The house of delicious and tasty lechon manok and lechon liempo of Cebu.
In Filipino, this catchy name “Chic-Boy” also refers to a boy who loves and pursues a lot of girls… Oh, Boy! you really love those Chics!
Chics and Boys, you are invited to delicious and affordable meals only in Chic-Boy! Girls can go for the chickens and baboy for the boys! Just the perfect match!
right? Hehe.
Chic-Boy started doing business in 2008 from take out counters in Marikina and Quezon City. It was just recently they had their first real fast food restaurant along Jupiter St. in Makati City.
And so… Trip Ko Lang goes to Chic-Boy…
Chic-Boy offers Chibog Busog Meals for less than 100php which include house soup and unlimited rice! Yes, you heard it right! Rice All You Can, calling no-diet people and rice lovers! Hehe.
We had Cebu Lechon Liempo meal at 99php and Cebu Lechon Manok meal at 97php. Both meals were delicious. I loved the Lechon Liempo, it really tasted Cebu’s Lechon which I fell in love with when I was in Cebu.
Vinegar goes with these meals but you also have to try their Lechon sauce…
For side orders, we had Ensaladang Mangga and Pancit Canton at 40php each.
Pancit Canton tasted just the usual but a bit salty… by the way, we also had bottomless Iced Tea just for 25php.
Overall, our Chic-Boy foodie experience was good, enjoyed delicious meals at affordable prices. Super sulit meals!
The place was spacious, clean and friendly environment. Also, loved their interior, great design! Service was good and quick.
Highly recommended for the Chics and Boys on a budget and craving for delicious chicken and baboy! Hehe. See yah!

If you’re in MegaMall and doing a lot of shopping, time is really pressured but where will you get the shopping energy if you’re hungry? Hehe. Eat & Go is the answer! My latest foodie discovery with quick and easy to eat foods; fast service and I assure you will make your shopping and dining experience a blissful one.
Eat And Go offers a wide selection of quick foods from Bruschetta, soups, salads, London pies, rice and pasta meals. You can match it with their good selection of drinks – frozen cappucino, smoothies, coolers and their very own brewed iced teas.
Meals start from 150php and up while drinks start from 70php and up.
We ordered for Peppered Chicken with pasta siding and California Sandwich. Both tasted yummy and with the right amount of serving for a satisfying meal.
As for our drinks we had Berry Strawberry and their own brewed iced tea. Loved them both but the iced tea was more outstanding because it tasted different and felt a relaxing feeling! Hehe.
