The Flying Pig
by webby on Jan.20, 2012, under Blog, Food
Who said pigs can’t fly?! They do and we have one in Eastwood City…The Flying Pig is located at G/F Eastwood Mall Veranda. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by friendly waiters and of course Mr. Flying Pig’s portraits displayed on their walls… cool!
The restaurant had a casual ambience and a good place to hangout especially during off-peak dining hours.
Here’s a shot of The Flying Pig’s menu, with a comics strip finish and having Mr. Flying Pig as the main character in different costumes…
Most of their dishes were pork cooked in various ways and with interesting names… like Kung Fu Spiced Spare Ribs, Three Little Pigs Cabbage Rolls, The Pork Treasure Pot, Patatim Pata Tom, The HogFather Spaghetti, The Road Hog Burger, Flying Pig Adobo Press and a lot more… I think they are known for their delicious ribs but we decided to have their Bangin’ Bagnet and The Flying Meatloaf.
Since I tasted Bagnet in Ilocos, I have loved Bagnets, and look forward in having it whenever there’s a restaurant that offers this dish; I have also tried and blogged some restaurants… and I can add The Flying Pig’s Bagnet to my list of delicious Bagnets in Manila… Their Bangin’ Bagnet was great, less fat, right crunchy level, a bit salty but good thing they have it with 2 sauces – liver sauce and vinegar… and with their adobo rice this meal was superb!
We also tried their Flying Meatloaf… it was served flying on your plate… hahaha, just kidding!
This dish had 2 giant slices of Meatloaf…it was really BIG!
The meatloaf was easy to eat and really flavorsome that made it so hard to finish…
I think you really need another dish to go with it so you won’t get tired of eating! Haha!
Both dishes had ample servings and really good for sharing.
It won’t be a pricey dinner for 2 after all…
As for the drinks, we tried their Apple Lemon House Blend Iced Tea; it looked a sexy drink and tasted good for only 80php…
Overall, here’s a quick ratings of our “The Flying Pig” foodie experience: (1 – being lowest and 5 – being highest)
Food Taste – 4

Price – 3
Service – 4
Ambience – 4
Fly your way now to Eastwood and meet Mr. Flying Pig and have your own sumptuous foodie experience…
See yah!
Gotti’s Ristorante
by webby on Feb.20, 2011, under Blog, Food
Welcome to Italy’s most wanted, Gotti’s Ristorante located in The Atrium of Megamall which serves great Italian dishes. Restaurant name came from the infamous Mafia of Italy, John Gotti, a godfather with a good taste in food.
We decided to dine in this resto because we were looking for something light for dinner, pasta and pizza would go fine. We ordered their Frutti Di Mari pasta, seafood pasta in marinara sauce only the regular sized serving. They also have this in a bigger serving for sharing, good for 2 to 3 persons but we opted the regular one and food serving was already enough for 2.
For pizza, we had one of their best sellers and intrigued by the food title we had one Godfather pizza! Yumyum!
They also offer frozen iced teas, we had their Strawberry and Dalandan flavor, the latter was better…
Overall, we were happy to dine in Gotti’s Ristorante, their pasta and pizza were all good, delicious and prices were reasonable.
If you are looking for a simple, casual Italian dining with great food, Gotti’s is a good choice.
KXP Kulinarya Experience
by webby on Apr.24, 2010, under Blog, Food
Kulinarya Experience is located at the 2nd Floor Midtown wing of Robinson’s Place Manila. I think this resto has been operating for more than a year now but it was just last weekend that we were able to try it.
The restaurant name as well as the menu was very interesting which influenced us to dine here. They have Teppanyaki Grill wherein you can choose your own combination from meat (Ribeye, Pork Tenderloin Steak, Beef Burger, etc.) or seafood (Squid, Shrimp, Fish Steak); choose your sauce (Steak, Teriyaki, or Gambas); and choose your siding (pasta or rice).
They also offer unique pasta and rice meals for an exciting pasta and rice experience in KXP. You can have Bacon & Shitake Mushrom Linguine, Italian Burger Melt or Mac & Cheese pasta and etc. Rice meals, you can choose from Chicken Strips on Baked Tomato Rice, Tuna & Mushroom Gratin Rice, or Spicy Tofu Sisig Rice and a lot more.
We ordered for Squash soup, reasonably priced and really YUMMY!
We had Crabstick & Mozzarella as appetizer, good taste and serving.
Main dish, tried one of their Teppanyaki Grill- Pork Steak Rice…pork was tender, yummy sauce, whole dish was delicious.
As for their drinks, they have their own Iced Tea, something different and tasted refreshingly good.
Overall, our Kulinarya Experience was great! Food was delicious, friendly waiters and quick service. Prices were reasonable and will definitely visit again to try out their other Teppanyaki Grills, exciting Rice and Pasta meals.
