The Classic Savory Chicken
by webby on Oct.04, 2011, under Blog, Food
Known for their famous fried chicken, Savory has been in business since 1950. It started as a small Panciteria in Manila; became a favorite restaurant of the Chinese community and up to now is being loved by many and has continuing success in the food industry.
I can no longer remember my childhood memories with this very classic restaurant…
And it was just recently that I visited Savory once again…we went to their branch in Greenhills; situated right above Starbucks Theater Mall.
The menu and ambience of the restaurant made us really feel dining in an old and authentic Chinese restaurant…
They offer a lot of dishes; typical Chinese foods.
We wanted something hot so we ordered for their Beef Mami; it was delicious and tasted like a real authentic Chinese recipe.
Lechon Macau, our favorite dish in Chinese restaurants…just the usual and a bit fatty…
Of course, we shouldn’t miss their famous Chicken so we had one of their Savory Combo which is good for 2 persons. It included pancit, spareribs and turon… they offer different options on their combo meals, you can just choose which side dishes you want to have with their famous Savory Chicken.
Overall, we had a satisfying, authentic Chinese dinner. The place was also great as well as the staff.
If you get tired of the usual Fast food Fried Chickens, and wanting to have a taste of the authentic Chinese style recipe; Savory Chicken will always be open for you…
They have several branches available in most area of Manila. See you!
Tommassi Pasta Ristorante

Who loves Tomatoes?
I do!!! I love eating it with pandesal, with rice or just munch it alone… and good thing tomatoes are the basic ingredient of Italian food like pasta and pizza, tomatoes can never be missed out!
We had a recent discovery of a new Italian restaurant with very comfortable ambience, delicious dishes and very affordable prices…Tommassi started as a small cafe inside UST campus and now has its branch in Scout Rallos corner Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City. They offer a wide variety of pastas, pizzas and rice meals…from the usual dishes like Carbonara, Bolognese, Pepperoni Pizza to their signature dishes like Tommassi Meatball and Tommassi Speciale pizza…
Of course, we had Tommassi Meatball, classy spaghetti with one big meatball on top…
loved their homemade meatball, very juicy and tasted different from the other meatball spaghettis we have tried…a must try!
I’m not a white sauce lover but we also tried their Carbonara, just like the usual Carbonaras…
This one is called Pollo Italiano, another red sauce… I love!!! It has pesto and chicken margherita, sauce was really great and toppings were overload… Yummy!!!
Another loved dish is Chicken Parmigiana…this was so tasty, their cheese and tomato cream sauce made the whole meal superb! Kids would definitely love this dish…another must try!
For Tommassi’s pizzas we tried their Pepperoni, Bianco Formaggio, and Tommassi Speciale, all priced at 225php. My favorite was the Bianco Formaggio with parmesan, alfredo sauce, garlic and mozzarella, very simple yet tasted sooo good… I think if you’ll just have a pizza you can finish one whole of it because it’s thin crust, very fresh ingredients and great sauce! Love!
As for desserts, this Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake should not be missed…loved the soft texture and right sweetness in every bite of it… a very sinful cake…but WTH?!! Sometimes it feels good to give in…hehe!
and I think this is really affordable for a slice, right?
Another dessert we had is their Blueberry Cheesecake, just the usual taste…but very affordable for a cheesecake…sorry, I’m still crazy with the Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake…
Overall, our dinner was great; everything was very satisfying and would like to thank my good friend Abby, for introducing and treating us in Tommassi last weekend!
By the way if you guys have availed of Tommassi’s discount voucher in Ensogo just recently, I assure you would love the food and ambience here… a great place for couples dating, friends gathering or family day out…
The interior was vibrantly painted; feels like you’re in a park or you can choose to dine by the window, romantic for dinners…
Also, this Italian restaurant transforms into a bar at night…another cool place to hang out in Tomas Morato…
Pan de Amerikana, Upside down restaurant
by webby on Feb.03, 2011, under Blog, Food
Known for its authentic 1950’s pan de sal, Pan de Amerikana also boasts its very much unique themed restaurants in Katipunan and Marikina. Katipunan branch is famous for its upside down interiors while Marikina branch has the chess theme.
I was happy to visit their Katipunan branch… and personally see those dining sets hanging from the ceiling… hehe… This Pan de Amerikana branch gives a very homey and relaxing feeling that made me feel I was just eating in my own home. ..
And not just that, meals served were all very affordable!
I think this restaurant is the cheapest one that we have visited so far… our bill was less than 200 bucks, surprising, right? But we loved it!
Here are some shots of our yummy and very affordable merienda in a very homey and interesting Pan de Amerikana restaurant…
They also offer pandesals with fillings at 25php makes it yummier but for me their plain pandesal is already good…
If you are looking for a unique and homey ambience with very affordable foods, Pan de Amerikana is a good choice! Also, if you are craving for Ilokano food, you can find them here… a reason for me to go back some time…
See you!
Pan de Amerikana is near White Plains and beside Petron. Budget 50 and up.
Blushing cupcakes cafe
by webby on Aug.10, 2009, under Blog, Food
The café shop’s ambience was enticing and the menu looked fairly affordable. We then had ourselves some Apple Cinnamon (25php) and Smores (27php) cupcakes with their homemade iced tea (50php).
Yes, their sweets are very much affordable and I can say that you will really get your money’s worth with the size, taste and over-all appearance of it. Our Blushing Cupcakes experience was okay; we got to try different homemade cupcakes at affordable prices.
