Vikings Buffet
by webby on Jul.18, 2011, under Blog, Food
It was a rainy weekend but nothing can stop us in visiting Vikings Buffet… it was a long walk coming from the main area of SM Mall of Asia; Vikings was situated at the farthest point of the restaurants along seaside area (nearest to Hooters, LAX Club).
We arrived around 6pm and didn’t have any reservations, there was already a long queue but luckily we got in right away and were seated at the non-aircon/outside area of Vikings. Tip: It is better to have an early reservation before dining here.
Before getting my food, I had first a trip to all the different sections in the buffet area and checking out which section to go first or trying to figure out the best and strategic way to enjoy my Vikings feast… unfortunately, I just got frustrated for not knowing which one to try first and came back with very few foods on my plate…
Here’s a shot of the Maki section, they were all great…
Other sample appetizers present…
These were huge chicken feet…
They also had their own pizza, the Vikings’s special similar to a very flavorsome white cheese pizza… a must try!
Here’s the section of barbecues, kebabs, and satays, got only to try their chicken and beef satay and it was just fine and was hoping to have satay peanut sauce but didn’t find any and just had it with gravy…
Grilling section, here you can instruct the waiter to help you with selecting and grilling whatever seafood, pork, beef you wanted….
Another seafood section near the Japanese area…
I love these cakes because of its color… haha though it was yummy, really tasted Pistachio and pretty unusual flavor for a cake…
Oh, these mousses were also great; you can have it in chocolate or strawberry, got to taste both!
One thing special in Vikings was their unlimited drink which is included in their buffet charges… you can choose from their wide selection of juices and soft drinks and yes, you can have beer too, and it is unlimited! Super sulit!
Okay, here’s some plating shots…forgive me for just having few and not able to shoot my main course plates… because they just didn’t look appealing for a buffet… haha!
Tuna spicy, Mango wrap, Taiwan roll (the green one!) Futomaki and Vikings jumbo roll which became my favorite, it was so full and really tasty… a must try!
Here’s a shot of my simple chocolatey desserts… Chocolate fondue, brownie and my strawberry mousse…Sweeeet!
I also got their frozen vanilla flavor yogurt, had it with my favorite toppings – Koko Crunch, chocolate chips, marshmallows, colored sprinkles and graham… a must try but didn’t really enjoyed it… it melted so quickly (not the usual yogurt) and too sour…
Overall, we had a very satisfying feast in Vikings; very wide selection of dishes; everything were delicious; food were always refilled; good and friendly waiters; great dining area; definitely a must try for buffet lovers!
Also a great place to celebrate and feast with big families and group of friends. So get board now on Vikings buffet and delight in great food!
Yaki Mix

Splurge + Food Galore = Yaki Mix (Great Food + Complete Satisfaction)
Okay, do the math if you are not yet hungry… otherwise head now to Yaki Mix to eat… errr… EAT-A-LOT…
Here’s another foodie discovery that is worth the visit… it’s not just the complete buffet that you will love but also its smokeless grill…yes, you get to experience choosing the food you want to grill and see it cooked right in the middle of your table…sounds interesting?
I’m no cook but enjoyed the grilling experience, I get to say: “Hey, I cooked/grilled that! Yummy?!
Haha. There were a lot to grill, you can choose from beef, pork, seafood, and everything you can think of grilling!
Yaki Mix has complete buffet set-up from soups, salads, Chinese and Japanese dishes and the best section is the Sushi Overload! I love sushi and really went gaga over those sushi, so many different types of sushi!
And another favorite of mine…desserts! My meal is incomplete without it…but we didn’t really enjoy this part because we were already too full and didn’t make enough room for dessert. They have ice creams and you can have your our own toppings, mini cakes, regular cakes, fruits, ice drops and etc.
Dinner buffet costs 580php per head. Drink all you can at 55php (Sodas, Iced Tea, Juices). Dinner time is from 6pm to 11pm. There were a lot of people but you can also make early reservations to avoid waiting too long.
Overall, our Yaki Mix experience was fun, yummy, satisfied and worth the money!
You can visit their branch at SM Mall of Asia, Tomas Morato or along Macapagal Blvd.
Big chow-time! Yum yum!
p.s.
Sorry about the pictures as they did not allow to take pictures of the whole buffet set-up.
