The Classic Savory Chicken
by webby on Oct.04, 2011, under Blog, Food
Known for their famous fried chicken, Savory has been in business since 1950. It started as a small Panciteria in Manila; became a favorite restaurant of the Chinese community and up to now is being loved by many and has continuing success in the food industry.
I can no longer remember my childhood memories with this very classic restaurant…
And it was just recently that I visited Savory once again…we went to their branch in Greenhills; situated right above Starbucks Theater Mall.
The menu and ambience of the restaurant made us really feel dining in an old and authentic Chinese restaurant…
They offer a lot of dishes; typical Chinese foods.
We wanted something hot so we ordered for their Beef Mami; it was delicious and tasted like a real authentic Chinese recipe.
Lechon Macau, our favorite dish in Chinese restaurants…just the usual and a bit fatty…
Of course, we shouldn’t miss their famous Chicken so we had one of their Savory Combo which is good for 2 persons. It included pancit, spareribs and turon… they offer different options on their combo meals, you can just choose which side dishes you want to have with their famous Savory Chicken.
Overall, we had a satisfying, authentic Chinese dinner. The place was also great as well as the staff.
If you get tired of the usual Fast food Fried Chickens, and wanting to have a taste of the authentic Chinese style recipe; Savory Chicken will always be open for you…
They have several branches available in most area of Manila. See you!

Also, Deliboys offers “Make your Own” sandwich; I tried it and selected everything from the bread, to cold cuts, add-ons (i.e. tomato, cheese), sauce and other garnishes. Yes, you have the freedom to choose which ones you would like to include in your sandwich! What a brilliant idea?!
And they really have a lot of options so I guess you can come up with the craziest sandwich ever! Hahaha! For the diet conscious people, well you can really control your food in this “Make your Own” sandwich option.
While dining we were also given a free taste of their cookies… didn’t get its name but it was good!

I’m not really into eating spicy foods but my Besty had talked about these great Buffalo wings in Buffalo Wings N’ Things and encouraged me to try it. It was one Saturday afternoon when I finally decided to go and have a taste of these much craved and crazed Buffalo wings… of course, she was with me and still excited when we visited the place.
We ordered 1 Pound of their Champion Buffalo Wings; she had it in New York’ Finest sauce while I chose The Rookie (just the right spiciness for a not so into spicy foodie). And yes, I must agree their Buffalo wings were great; yummy flavor, big size and tender wings.
We also ordered for a basket of fries, big, big fries to go with our wings… Yumyum…
We were there mid-afternoon, but I didn’t really care and just wanted to try their Margarita Slush… hahaha…which was really good and made me tipsy… guess what? It was my first time to go window shopping while a bit drunk! Cool!
Hehehe. Thanks to one glass of Margarita Slush!
Here’s their menu on the Wings… you get to choose the spicy level and type of sauce you want with your Buffalo wings…
And here are the other Things you can order to go with those wings…
If you still want more, then dig in to their American Burgers that would surely satisfy your meal….

Everything at Steak
by webby on Dec.23, 2009, under Blog, Food
It was just recently that I was able to visit once again our family’s favorite steak house in San Juan. Everything at Steak is located just beside the Petron Station along P. Guevarra st. A cozy steak house with great food, reasonable prices and appropriate servings. Currently, the place has just been renovated and I say it looked better and created a more clean homey ambience.
Of course, we craved for their steaks, T-bone and Rib Eye with our preferred sauce, gravy and barbeque. All steaks included your choice of sidings – coleslaw, corn and carrots, twister fries, yummy homemade mashed potatoes and etc.
We had a very satisfying dinner with great steaks and sidings at less than 200php per meal. Everything at Steak is the best place to visit if you are craving for steaks at any time of the day and within a budget.
Aperto desserts and drinks

Having dinner without desserts gives you a feeling of craving for anything sweet just to give you a satisfying feeling. On our way back home, we passed along this new dessert shop, a must stop for people who missed their desserts and can’t really get back home without having one. ;P
Aperto offers a wide variety of drinks from hot coffees, ice blended, smoothies, floats, iced teas and their special flavored jet teas. Banana flavored jet tea was the drink we desired and tried.
For cakes and pastries, there were cupcakes, brownies, cheesecakes and other special cakes. We craved for the rich chocolate cake that was named Choco paradise cake. First taste would instantly bring you a sweet and heavenly feeling of its rich chocolate taste and cream filling.
One glass of Banana Flavored Jet Tea is a good choice of drink to go along this Choco Paradise cake. This drink’s very light and distinct flavor complement very well with the sweetness of the cake.
A dessert combination for only 190php can already bring you yummy satisfaction and quickly respond to your sweet cravings.
Aperto desserts and drinks would now be on our list of quick dessert shops, a reliable and easy to reach dessert stop near our home whenever we crave for yummy cakes, cool and relaxing drinks.
