Pan de Amerikana, Upside down restaurant

by on Feb.03, 2011, under Blog, Food

Known for its authentic 1950’s pan de sal, Pan de Amerikana also boasts its very much unique themed restaurants in Katipunan and Marikina. Katipunan branch is famous for its upside down interiors while Marikina branch has the chess theme.

I was happy to visit their Katipunan branch… and personally see those dining sets hanging from the ceiling… hehe…  This Pan de Amerikana branch gives a very homey and relaxing feeling that made me feel I was just eating in my own home. .. :)

And not just that, meals served were all very affordable! :) I think this restaurant is the cheapest one that we have visited so far… our bill was less than 200 bucks, surprising, right? But we loved it! :)

They also offer pandesals with fillings at 25php makes it yummier but for me their plain pandesal is already good… :)

empanada cooking, final product and how to eat it

Here’s another well-known food in Ilocos, their fried orange yummy empanada. This is made up of grated papaya, toge, longganisa, egg, and dough (orange color). These empanadas can be found in Batac and Vigan but we were just able to try the one in Batac. :) It was delicious and really heavy. Find it hard to finish one and you can also eat it with ketchup and vinegar. Yumyum.
