Mey Lin Pot & Noodles House
by webby on Jun.01, 2011, under Blog, Food
I was craving for some Chinese food particularly noodles that evening, when we saw Mey Lin Pot & Noodles House… this restaurant is known for its Chinese hand-pulled noodles which we have never tried yet… and so we decided to have dinner here…
We ordered their house specialty noodles – the 8 Treasure Noodles; hand-pulled noodles topped with mixed vegetables and black tofu in a sweet spicy Chinese sauce…it was delicious and the sauce was great!
Hand-pulled noodles were really heavy that we weren’t able to finish it all.
Another house specialty main dish we had was their Shredded Pork with Tokwa; thinly sliced pork with black tokwa…again… hehe! Sauce was somewhat similar to our noodles; both were sweet, a bit spicy and very rich in flavor.
We were very satisfied with our dinner; it was a different style/taste of Chinese food, you can savor these delicious dishes in Mey Lin Pot & Noodles House.
Mey Lin Pot & Noodles House is located in Ground Floor of SM Mall of Asia and other SM branches.
Flores De Mayo sa MOA 2011
by webby on May.04, 2011, under Blog, Travel
Hello, May!
Once again it is the month of May, a month long celebration of traditional festivals in different provinces in the Philippines. One famous celebration held is the Flores de Mayo, wherein Catholics honor the Virgin Mary thru Santacruzan/Sagala; young girls would make flower offerings and parade for the Virgin Mary.
To kick-off the month long celebration of Flores de Mayo, SM Mall of Asia with Unilever and other major sponsors held Manila’s grandest Flores de Mayo in SM Mall of Asia. Filipino fashion designers were invited to showcase their talents by creating their gowns and modeled by beautiful Filipinas and paraded in the grounds of SM Mall of Asia.
Here are some of shots of the beautiful Sagalas…
This event also has its Photo Contest, with the theme Filipina, Busilak sa Ganda! Photographers were invited to come and shoot during the event and to submit their entries for the photo contest.
It was definitely a successful event; there were a lot of photographers present as well as mall goers who watched the Flores de Mayo in SM Mall of Asia. Also, the crowd enjoyed seeing some notable personalities like “Clara”, Marie Digby, Bianca Manalo, Hayden Kho and other beautiful women participated in the Sagala.

Splurge + Food Galore = Yaki Mix (Great Food + Complete Satisfaction)
Okay, do the math if you are not yet hungry… otherwise head now to Yaki Mix to eat… errr… EAT-A-LOT…
Here’s another foodie discovery that is worth the visit… it’s not just the complete buffet that you will love but also its smokeless grill…yes, you get to experience choosing the food you want to grill and see it cooked right in the middle of your table…sounds interesting?
I’m no cook but enjoyed the grilling experience, I get to say: “Hey, I cooked/grilled that! Yummy?!
Haha. There were a lot to grill, you can choose from beef, pork, seafood, and everything you can think of grilling!
Yaki Mix has complete buffet set-up from soups, salads, Chinese and Japanese dishes and the best section is the Sushi Overload! I love sushi and really went gaga over those sushi, so many different types of sushi!
And another favorite of mine…desserts! My meal is incomplete without it…but we didn’t really enjoy this part because we were already too full and didn’t make enough room for dessert. They have ice creams and you can have your our own toppings, mini cakes, regular cakes, fruits, ice drops and etc.
Dinner buffet costs 580php per head. Drink all you can at 55php (Sodas, Iced Tea, Juices). Dinner time is from 6pm to 11pm. There were a lot of people but you can also make early reservations to avoid waiting too long.
Overall, our Yaki Mix experience was fun, yummy, satisfied and worth the money!
You can visit their branch at SM Mall of Asia, Tomas Morato or along Macapagal Blvd.
Big chow-time! Yum yum!
p.s.
Sorry about the pictures as they did not allow to take pictures of the whole buffet set-up.
