by on Oct.19, 2011, under Blog, Food

I currently work in Eastwood City but it was just recently that I got to eat in Chuck’s Deli. Thanks to Ensogo’s discount voucher, we only paid 99php for 200php worth of food and drinks at Chuck’s Deli. :)

I was delighted to meet Chuck’s signature super sandwiches called the Slabwiches… can be ordered by half or whole, prices ranges from 175php to 255php for the half while whole slabwiches ranges from 295php to 495.

I love Buffalo wings so I ordered The Buffy, Buffalo chicken and garlic sauce; it was so tasty, a bit spicy and filling was really BIG! :)

And another good thing about Chuck’s slabwiches, they were all served with Onion Rings or Chips, of course, we all opted for the big, crunchy, yummy Onion Rings, love it… :)

The Classic Savory Chicken

by on Oct.04, 2011, under Blog, Food

Known for their famous fried chicken, Savory has been in business since 1950. It started as a small Panciteria in Manila; became a favorite restaurant of the Chinese community and up to now is being loved by many and has continuing success in the food industry.

I can no longer remember my childhood memories with this very classic restaurant… :(   And it was just recently that I visited Savory once again…we went to their branch in Greenhills; situated right above Starbucks Theater Mall.

The menu and ambience of the restaurant made us really feel dining in an old and authentic Chinese restaurant… ;) They offer a lot of dishes; typical Chinese foods.

We wanted something hot so we ordered for their Beef Mami; it was delicious and tasted like a real authentic Chinese recipe.

Lechon Macau, our favorite dish in Chinese restaurants…just the usual and a bit fatty…

Of course, we shouldn’t miss their famous Chicken so we had one of their Savory Combo which is good for 2 persons.  It included pancit, spareribs and turon… they offer different options on their combo meals, you can just choose which side dishes you want to have with their famous Savory Chicken. :)

Overall, we had a satisfying, authentic Chinese dinner. The place was also great as well as the staff. :)

If you get tired of the usual Fast food Fried Chickens, and wanting to have a taste of the authentic Chinese style recipe; Savory Chicken will always be open for you… ;) They have several branches available in most area of Manila. See you! :)

It was our photo walk day, looking for a perfect resto for some foodie shots, we decided to dine here. I have heard so much about Cookbook Kitchen, good thing it is now very much accessible to its customers and strategically located in Eastwood city.

They offer interesting and unique dishes, so it was a bit hard to decide on what to get.  So we ordered for their CBK Chicken, whole chicken breast fillet with cheese, ham and basil stuffing served hot with Italian pesto and roasted tomatoes….a bit pricey but was worth it…very delicious and large serving. :)

Another dish we ordered was the Spicy Italian Sausage, served with Pizzaiola Sauce, could be spicy for foodies who don’t love spicy foods but I guess the sauce neutralized its spiciness.

And my most loved part in any resto is trying out their homemade iced teas… :) They have 3 flavors, red, green and golden iced teas. Mixture was very rich in taste, we even asked for more ice cubes to lessen the sweetness and flavor. But still, they have good iced teas… ;)

Desserts can’t be missed especially when you are dining in Cookbook Kitchen, they are also known for their yummy desserts, it was really a must to have their signature cake – The Scarlet. ;) They have it in petite size and regular size at 160php (I ‘m not really sure… :P ) We just ordered for the petite size and it was enough for 2, the cake looked dry but it once you taste it, it was so moist and really, really good! :)

Okay, I must admit, I was a bit bitin…it was really yummy! :) I would definitely go back to try other dishes and of course, have another slice of Scarlet. ;)

Food Photography is known in creating that perfect shot to make your food look real good and which also requires lots of money and resources to make it work.

Being a foodie and a photographer, I love looking at food menus but I usually get disappointed after being excited over a very enticing food photo of my order then getting something that really looks different.  Too commercialized food photos can sometimes be deceiving and can make customers unhappy.  :(
