Lime 88 Street Food with a Twist
by webby on Apr.27, 2011, under Blog, Food
We ordered for their famous Street Style BBQ Platter which includes Chicken Ass, Chicken Intestine, Betamax, Pork Intestine, and Pork Skin, with Peanut Sauce. Tasted good just the usual but definitely clean.
Sauce was good just like the one used with Satay but you can also choose to dip it with vinegar.
Kwek kwek or tukneneng, when we buy it on the streets but here it is called Quail Egg Tempura, how sosy noh?! Hehe!
Another tusok tusok food we ordered was their Authentic Street Style Balls, included Kikiam, Fish balls, Squid balls, and Chicken balls. Guess what happened before this picture was taken? Haha!
Then we ordered one main dish, Embotido Stuffed Crispy Pata, big and yummy!
All their foods were delicious but find it a bit pricey…maybe because of how they transformed it to something sosy…food presentation was good…a good place to hang out if you don’t want too much crowd, venue is a house transformed to a restaurant…Lime 88 is located at 160 San Rafael St. Mandaluyong City.
See you there!
Street food only in Panglao Island
by webby on Oct.18, 2009, under Blog, Food, T-Files
Seeing a food cart parked along the beach was really surprising for me. Being the only food cart we saw; we quickly checked it and found out that it was selling Tempura – wow, another surprise! Only here in Panglao, you can buy Tempura from a food cart and sold as street food.
In an instant, we ordered one piece each for only 3 pesos. We waited some time because frying time was a bit long and there were a lot who ordered. I think this Tempura is the cheapest food that you can find in Panglao, eat it with rice and you can already have a satisfying and definitely the cheapest meal.
We dipped it in a spicy sauce, for me it tasted like Kikiam and generally tasted good. Good thing we discovered this Tempura food cart while strolling along the beach, another new food experience for me.
So the next time you visit Panglao Island, make sure to look for Kuya and his Tempura food cart along the beach and experience eating the cheapest Tempura only in Panglao Island.
Thanks to my good friend Leo, for being my model in this blog entry.
